Nursing Operations Lead

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Nursing Operations Lead oversees the daily work of our nursing team and ensures they are prepared, supported, and effective in their roles. This position includes responsibilities across hiring, training, scheduling, quality assurance, case management support, and reporting. It also includes evaluating the incorporation of insurance-based reimbursement and designing nurse protocols that support both positive patient outcomes and company goals. Success in this role will be measured by nurse engagement, efficient operations, compliance, and improved health outcomes for the families we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Workforce Growth
    • Lead recruitment for nursing roles, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
    • Partner with leadership to plan staffing needs and build a strong pipeline of candidates.

  • Onboarding & Training
    • Design and manage a structured onboarding program for new nurses.
    • Create and maintain training content, including virtual sessions and job aids.

  • Clinical Operations Management
    • Oversee scheduling and daily assignments for the nurse team.
    • Manage clinical case escalations and coordinate with senior staff when needed.
    • Track key service targets such as timely responses, accurate documentation, and follow-through on care plans.

  • Quality, Compliance & Risk
    • Monitor and address service issues or clinical incidents.
    • Work with internal teams to ensure privacy protections and regulatory compliance.

  • Performance Reporting
    • Prepare weekly reports on staffing levels, patient satisfaction, service outcomes, and other performance indicators.
    • Share insights with senior leadership and make recommendations.

  • Technology & Process Improvement
    • Collect nurse feedback and identify opportunities for platform or workflow improvements.
    • Help test and implement updates to internal tools and systems.

  • Stakeholder Liaison
    • Serve as the primary contact between the nurse team and departments such as product, leadership, and partnerships.
    • Coordinate with external partners to ensure nursing services meet expectations and commitments.

  • Medicare and Insurance Optimization
    • Assess how nursing services align with Medicare and insurance reimbursement programs.
    • Create documentation guidelines and care protocols that meet program requirements and enhance patient support.
    • Educate staff on proper recordkeeping and time tracking to ensure compliance and audit readiness.

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.

  • At least five years of clinical experience, including two years in care coordination or virtual health.

  • Strong clinical judgment and clear documentation skills.

  • Experience managing or supporting a team.

  • Comfort using digital health tools and virtual communication platforms.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.

  • Self-directed, reliable, and effective in a fast-moving, remote work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep experience in senior care or chronic condition support.

  • Practical understanding of Medicare, including enrollment, benefits, billing, and coverage types.

  • Familiarity with relevant billing codes for care coordination services.

  • Experience creating training content or managing learning systems.

  • Graduate degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or related field.
